WHAT WE ARE
Playing for a Cure, Inc. (PFAC) is a non-profit, tax exempt, all-volunteer fundraising organization devoted to raising money to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. In its first four years, Playing for a Cure has raised an impressive total of over $125,000.

Playing for a Cure has raised over $85,000 over the past three years.

WHO WE ARE
The members of Playing for a Cure live in Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Madison, Morgan, Walton, Jackson and Barrow counties and are united in the conviction that a cure will be found for Juvenile Diabetes. Many members of the group have children, spouses or loved ones who have Juvenile Diabetes (also known as "Type 1" Diabetes)

WHERE OUR DOLLARS GO
Because this is an all-volunteer group, every penny PFAC nets goes either directly to support research into a cure for Juvenile Diabetes or Camp Kudzu (a week-long camp for children with Juvenile Diabetes). PFAC is committed to raising money every year until a cure is found.

The centerpiece of the PFAC auction is the 'Athens Guitar.' The 2002 guitar was signed by over thirty Athens bands who started in 1973-1983, including R.E.M., the B-52's, Pylon, Love Tractor and the Squalls...

HOW WE WORK
Every year, Playing for a Cure hosts a weekend of fundraising activities, including a concert, live and silent auctions and a softball tournament. (In October of 2005, we're adding a Golf tournament!) Area artists, musicians, athletes and businesses donate their goods, services and time to make it all happen. We specialize in finding creative ways that donors can support PFAC. Our sponsors are mentioned in all of our publicity, and we urge our friends and neighbors to support our sponsors and donors throughout the year. In 2004, over ninety percent of the 2003 auction donors once again contributed to Playing for a Cure.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

• Become a Corporate Sponsor
  We have flexible sponsorship opportunities available to accommodate every business. With higher levels of sponsorship, business logos are incorporated into print ads, our website, t-shirts and the PFAC banner. We also offer unique sponsorship activities at the softball tournament.
  
  
• Donate Services or Items to the Auction
  With both silent and live auctions, we can find a place for any type of donation. Donors’ names are in the Evening Program, and are prominently displayed with the auction item. Live auction donors’ names are also announced during the live auction.
  
  
• Make a Financial Donation Time is of the essence. With proper funding, we know that a cure will soon be found for Juvenile Diabetes. By letting us put your money to work, our generation’s children who are now suffering will be freed from this debilitating disease.
  
  
• Become a PFAC Volunteer We always welcome new committee members, softball tournament volunteers, and night-of-show helpers.
